Cortex is an joint development project between Mario Caccamo (The Genome Analysis Centre, Norwich, UK) and Zamin Iqbal (University of Oxford, UK). Mario is leading the development of Cortex for consensus genome assembly. Zam is working with Gil McVean on development of Cortex as a means of variant discovery and genotyping, and incorporating population information into genome assembly.
