Cortex is an joint development project between Mario Caccamo (The Genome Analysis Centre, Norwich, UK) and Zamin Iqbal (University of Oxford, UK). Mario is leading the development of Cortex for consensus genome assembly. Zam now runs a group at Oxford University working on variant assembly, populations, generalisations of references etc, especially for pathogen genomes.
